I am very pleased to report another successful APMR cycle.
Satisfactory returns were received from 15 universities (Cumbria sent in 2 reports to include the Direct Entry course). There are excellent, accredited programmes and programme teams across the UK. There has been a drop in numbers of students enrolled and also in the numbers obtaining awards when compared with 2015 to 16 as seen in the table below. Numbers were especially high in 2015 to 16 and there are still a good number of students. It will be interesting to see how numbers compare going forwards.
The range of modules and the backgrounds of the students is still increasing. We continue to see the difficulties of increasing workload and clinical pressures, which has an effect on clinical placements for students and in some cases affects retention of students

Thanks to Gill Harrison for her hard work and analysis, and to all the programme leads for completing the forms.
The APMR form was modified to allow an easier completion of the form while still endeavouring to capture all the data that we find so useful. It seems to have been met favourably and this format will be used for 2017 - 18.
Special thanks to Sally for all her hard work and co-ordination.
